Advantages:
DL-methionine – has urine acidifying properties, which limit the re-formation of struvite stones. Struvite stones, i.e. phosphate-ammonium-magnesium stones, form in alkaline urine. The substance is recommended for cats with recurrent lower urinary tract problems.
Cranberries - the hippuric acid contained in it has a bacteriostatic effect, and pro-anthocyanidins, by combining with bacterial fibers, have an anti-adhesive effect, preventing their adhesion to the urinary tract epithelial cells. Effectively reduces the pH of urine, which results in a reduced ability to colonize uropathogens in the urinary bladder and urinary tracts. Thanks to these properties, it supports the treatment of infections and recurrent, chronic urinary tract infections in cats.
Salmon oil and black cumin oil - their addition contributes to the maximum involvement of polyunsaturated fatty acids from the Omega-3 and Omega-6 families in the biochemical control of the formation of pro-inflammatory cytokines and through specific inhibition of cyclooxygenase activity (COX-2); Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids have analgesic and relaxing properties on the muscles of blood vessels in the kidney.
High quality protein – food based on sources of high-quality animal protein with low fat content. The addition of egg increases the limiting amino acid factor to a level that guarantees the correct proportions in the use of all amino acids. The amount of protein covers the body's minimum demand for amino acids but does not cause their excessive catabolism and the formation of products that could impair kidney function. Reduced magnesium content - the composition of the raw materials has been selected so that the diet contains a reduced magnesium content, thanks to which the ingredient needed to produce struvite crystals is limited.
Yucca Mojave - added to the diet, it reduces the production of intestinal gases and the intensity of the smell of feces. Additionally, Mojave yucca saponins have antibacterial activity, which suppresses protozoan infections occurring in the intestines, and polyphenols have anti-inflammatory properties.
